Château d'Arche is a classified Sauternes estate, so a red wine from them is a departure. A de Château d'Arche is their Graves Rouge, made on the left bank gravels that gave the region its name.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby red with garnet reflections. Aromas of ripe blackberry, red cherry and plum, layered with subtle notes of tobacco, cedar and baking spice. Medium to full bodied with soft tannins and a well structured mouthfeel. Flavours of dark fruit, cassis and a touch of oak lead to a long, balanced finish. Graves takes its name from the gravel itself, which drains sharply and holds the day's heat into the night.
