Description

An extraordinary Palo Cortado from Bodegas César Florido aged 38 years in solera just 50 metres from the Atlantic — one of the rarest and most complex Sherries in production, with decades of oxidative ageing producing a wine of amber-mahogany depth and walnut spice complexity.

Tasting Notes
Amber-mahogany in the glass. The nose is extraordinary: toasted nuts, vanilla, old wood, and a sweet oxidative richness that comes only from decades in barrel. On the palate it is elegant and long, with a dry, savoury character that gradually reveals its full complexity. Palo Cortado is the rarest Sherry style, bridging Fino's freshness and Oloroso's power — and 38 years in solera puts this firmly at the contemplative end of that spectrum.

About the Producer
Bodegas César Florido is a small family estate in Chipiona, a coastal town in the Jerez zone directly on the Atlantic, where the ocean provides a cooling influence and perfect conditions for flor yeast development. Farming organically, they produce Fino, Moscatel, and other Jerez wines with exceptional character and no concession to commercial convenience. Their winery is literally 50 metres from the Atlantic.
