Pavillon Blanc is the only white wine produced at a Bordeaux first growth. Pure Sauvignon Blanc from a parcel that lies outside the Margaux appellation boundary, because Margaux is a red wine appellation and this wine is not allowed to use its own estate's name.
Tasting Notes
Citrus, white flowers and a subtle minerality, leading to a crisp and elegant palate. There is more weight and length here than the description suggests, and unlike most white Bordeaux it ages, developing waxy, honeyed depth over a decade or more while keeping its line of acidity. A curiosity by status and a serious wine by any other measure.

About the Producer
Château Margaux is one of the five first growths of Bordeaux, classified Premier Grand Cru Classé in the Bordeaux Classification of 1855. The estate sits in the commune of Margaux in the Médoc, on deep gravel soils, and its neoclassical château is among the most recognisable buildings in the wine world. Alongside the Grand Vin it produces a second wine, Pavillon Rouge, and the rare Pavillon Blanc.
