Pecorino is an Abruzzo native that nearly disappeared. The name comes from the sheep that were said to eat the grapes on their way through the hills, and the variety was close to extinct before growers rediscovered it in the 1980s.
Tasting Notes
An attractive grapefruit character on the nose and palate, with good weight and a silky richness. Aromatic yet crisp, finishing fresh with good length. Pecorino gives more body and texture than most Italian whites of this price, which is why it has become one of the more sought-after native varieties of central Italy.
