Viognier and Chardonnay is an unusual pairing, and a clever one. Viognier brings the apricot perfume it is famous for, Chardonnay supplies the acidity and structure that Viognier on its own often lacks.
Tasting Notes
Aromas of stone fruit, citrus blossom and a hint of oak. Creamy and vibrant on the palate, with peach, apricot and a touch of lemon zest, finishing with refreshing acidity. Viognier is a difficult grape that turns flabby if it is picked even slightly late, and blending it is one way of insuring against that.
