Vérité was created in Sonoma by Jess Jackson and the Bordelais winemaker Pierre Seillan, who divides the estate's hillside vineyards into hundreds of tiny blocks he calls micro-crus. La Muse is the Merlot, made in the image of the right bank.
Tasting Notes
A symphony of dark fruit, violets and a touch of chocolate, leading to a velvety palate that defines the artistry of Merlot. Where most Californian reds of this ambition are built on Cabernet, La Muse follows Pomerol and Saint-Émilion instead, with Merlot dominant and Cabernet Franc adding perfume. Plush and generous, but with the structure to age for two decades.

About the Producer
Vérité was founded in Sonoma County in 1998 by Jess Jackson and the French winemaker Pierre Seillan, with the aim of making Bordeaux-inspired wines from Californian hillside sites. Seillan divides the vineyards into a large number of very small blocks, which he calls micro-crus, and vinifies each separately. The estate produces three wines: La Muse, La Joie and Le Désir.
