Gérard Bertrand Château Villemajou Boutenac, the flagship of one of the Languedoc's most prestigious crus, built on old vine Carignan, dark garnet with black fruit, fig, Mediterranean herbs and liquorice, powerful and layered with a long structured finish made for keeping.
Tasting Notes
Dark garnet with deep, vibrant reflections. Black fruit, fig, Mediterranean herbs, liquorice and elegant oak spice on the nose. Powerful and layered on the palate with rich tannins, dark berries, warm spice and savoury complexity, closing long and structured. Boutenac is a recognised cru within Corbières and produces its most serious reds. Old vine Carignan sits at the core of this wine, a variety that gives little at high yields and a great deal at low ones.
