Le Clarence is the second wine of Château Haut-Brion, named after Clarence Dillon, the American banker who bought the estate in 1935 and whose family owns it still.
Tasting Notes
A deep ruby cloak. Aromas ranging from red and black fruit to cedar and tobacco. The palate is a tapestry of elegance, where velvety tannins cradle dark cherry, savoury herbs and a touch of earth, leading to a polished and lingering finish. It carries the smoky, earthy Pessac-Léognan signature of the Grand Vin in a lighter, earlier-drinking form, which makes it the sensible way to meet Haut-Brion without waiting twenty years.

About the Producer
Château Haut-Brion is the oldest of the great Bordeaux estates and the only property outside the Médoc included in the 1855 classification of first growths. It lies in Pessac-Léognan, now surrounded by the suburbs of Bordeaux itself, on deep gravel soils. The estate has been owned by the Dillon family since 1935.
