Coste di Rose takes its name from the roses that grow on its slopes, and the wine follows the hint. This is the more floral and approachable of Marchesi di Barolo's crus, from sandier soil that gives perfume rather than muscle.
Tasting Notes
Floral aromas, red fruit nuances and a touch of liquorice, leading to a balanced and elegant palate that mirrors the terroir of Barolo. The lighter, sandier soils of this site produce a Barolo with less weight and more lift than the great structural crus, which means it opens earlier and shows the aromatic side of Nebbiolo more readily.

About the Producer
Marchesi di Barolo is the historic house of the town of Barolo itself, descended from the estate of the Falletti family. Marchesa Giulia Falletti is widely credited with the creation of modern dry Barolo in the mid 19th century, and the cellars still stand opposite the family castle in the centre of the village.
