A Vinho Verde built on Arinto rather than the usual Loureiro-led blend, which gives it more acid spine and less of the floral prettiness the region is known for.
Tasting Notes
Brilliant green-yellow. Lime zest, green apple, wet stone and white pepper on the nose, almost reminiscent of a Federspiel level Grüner Veltliner. Clean, concentrated and incisive on the palate, with dry citrus and unripe pear followed by tarragon, slate and white pepper. Vinho Verde is often written off as a simple summer wine, and this is a reminder that the region can produce something with real cut and mineral drive.
