Gavi del Comune di Gavi is the top designation within the appellation, meaning the fruit comes from the commune of Gavi itself rather than the wider zone. Cortese, and nothing else.
Tasting Notes
Straw yellow with faint greenish highlights. A delicate floral bouquet that conveys the fragrance of the grape. Harmonious, fresh and pleasant on the palate, lively in the mouth. Cortese is a naturally high acid, low aromatic variety, which is why good Gavi tastes of texture and minerality rather than of fruit, and why it works so well with food.
