Perhaps the single most consistently full-bodied smoke that Cuba produces, the Bolivar Belicosos Finos is a perennial favourite for those favouring strong Cuban smokes. It is named after Simon Bolivar, who led the effort to liberate much of South America from Spain.

Tasting Notes
Smoking Time (Average): 45 Minutes
Dark earth, black pepper and bitter chocolate up front, moving through leather and cocoa. The second half brings molasses, dried fig and charred oak, and it finishes deep on espresso and anise. Powerful, but smooth and aromatic with it.

Occasion & Pairing
An after-dinner cigar, and not one to start the day with. It needs a drink with enough weight to stand beside it: an XO Cognac, a cask-strength single malt, a dark aged rum, or a glass of vintage Port. Black coffee works too if you are smoking it earlier.
