Fourchaume is the best known of the Chablis premier crus, sitting on the right bank of the Serein on the same slope that runs up to the grand crus, which is why it is generally the richest and most generous of them.
Tasting Notes
Bright citrus aromas complemented by green apple, white flowers and a hint of minerality. Crisp and vibrant on the palate with lemon zest, pear and a flinty finish that is both refreshing and complex. Fourchaume sits on Kimmeridgian limestone, the fossil-rich seabed that gives Chablis its saline, stony signature, and its position on the right bank gives it more sun and more flesh than the premier crus opposite.
