Arínzano holds its own appellation. In 2007 it became the first estate in northern Spain granted Vino de Pago status, a designation that covers one property alone rather than a region, and there are only a handful of them in the country.
Tasting Notes
Garnet red with bluish reflections. Intense aromas of fresh cherry and strawberry, layered with pastry cream and balsamic undertones. Expressive and full on the palate, delivering volume, persistence and a well integrated structure. Fresh tannins evolve into a silky, elegant finish with excellent balance and depth. Fourteen months in French oak, 40% new and 60% second use, gives complexity without overpowering the fruit.

About the Producer
Arínzano lies in a valley split by the river Ega in Tierra Estella, Navarra, where vines have been worked for close to a thousand years. In 2007 it became the first estate in northern Spain granted Vino de Pago status, its own appellation covering one property alone. The estate runs to 355 hectares with 125 under vine, farmed sustainably in a conservation programme designed with WWF.
