La Palazzetta Rosso di Montalcino DOC from Castelnuovo dell'Abate — brilliant ruby red with vibrant ripe red cherry, raspberry, and violet on the nose underlined by earthy hints of dried herbs and soft spice, fresh and medium-bodied on the palate with bright acidity, smooth tannins, and mineral notes on a clean, long, and elegant finish.
Tasting Notes
Brilliant ruby red with garnet reflections. Vibrant ripe red cherry, raspberry, and violet on the nose, underlined by earthy hints of dried herbs and soft spice. Fresh and medium-bodied on the palate with bright acidity, smooth tannins, and flavours of juicy red fruit, subtle tobacco, and mineral notes. Clean, long, and elegant on the finish. Rosso di Montalcino is the earlier-drinking sibling of Brunello — the same Sangiovese, less ageing time, more immediate pleasure.
