Moët & Chandon | Ice Impérial
Description

Ice Impérial was the first Champagne ever made specifically to be poured over ice. The dosage is higher than a standard brut precisely so that the wine still tastes complete once the ice has begun to melt.

Tasting Notes
Golden yellow with bright, lively bubbles. Tropical fruit, stone fruit, raspberry and subtle floral notes. Fresh and fruity on the palate with mango, peach, nectarine and raspberry, smooth and rounded with a refreshing finish. Served any other way it reads as sweet, which is why the ice is not a suggestion but part of the design.

Quick Facts

  • Grapes: Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay
  • Origin: France, Champagne
  • ABV: 12%
  • Style: Champagne made to be served over ice, higher dosage than a standard brut

Food Pairing
Fresh fruit, sushi, seafood, spiced dishes, salads, and light summer appetisers.

Serving
Serve well chilled over three ice cubes, in a large glass rather than a flute.

About the Producer
Moët & Chandon was founded at Épernay in 1743 by Claude Moët and is the largest Champagne house in the world. Its cellars run for close to thirty kilometres beneath the town. The Impérial name dates from the house's relationship with Napoleon, and the estate also produces the prestige cuvée Dom Pérignon.
