A whole-bunch Nerello Mascalese rosato from Anna Martens's Etna estate, salmon-orange in colour, made from pre-phylloxera ungrafted old vines on volcanic soils, crunchy, vibrant, and loaded with red fruit and mineral character.
Best enjoyed young and fresh.
Tasting notes
Salmon-orange in colour with bright aromas of cranberry, red cherry, and blood orange. Fresh and vibrant on the palate with a light tannic structure from the whole-bunch vinification, juicy red fruit, and a mineral undertone that marks every Vino di Anna wine. The Jeudi 15 rosato is a rosé that takes itself seriously without being precious about it.
Goes with
Salmon, grilled fish, Thai cuisine, and light spiced dishes. Also excellent as a serious aperitif.

The producer
Vino di Anna is the estate of Australian winemaker Anna Martens, who arrived on Mount Etna in 2007 and has since built one of the volcano's most revered natural wine labels. Working biodynamically on ungrafted pre-phylloxera vines at altitudes between 760 and 1200 metres on volcanic soils that no aphid has ever penetrated, she produces wines of extraordinary purity and place. Her wines are among the defining expressions of what Etna can do when left largely to its own devices.
