A Montepulciano from Calcarius grown on the calcareous limestone soils of Puglia's Murge plateau, made with zero added sulphur — a wine whose name SoulMate reflects its position as the perfect companion to a full meal of southern Italian cooking.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby. Montepulciano from Puglia rather than Abruzzo has its own character — darker, richer, and more generous on the fruit. Zero sulphur and Valentina Passalacqua's minimal intervention let the grape speak directly from limestone terroir to glass. Dark cherry, earthy mineral depth, and a pleasantly grippy finish that makes it the ideal partner for robust food.

About the Producer
Calcarius is the natural wine project of Valentina Passalacqua, made from organic Falanghina, Nero di Troia, Bombino Bianco, and other indigenous varieties grown on the ancient calcareous limestone soils of the Murge plateau in northern Puglia. The estate name comes from the Latin for limestone, reflecting the character of the terroir in every wine.
