Áster is La Rioja Alta's Ribera del Duero estate wine — bright intense garnet, with underbrush and dark fruit of red currants, blackberries, blueberry jam, and dark plums, rounded by mocha, pastry, spices, and cloves on the finish, with the vibrant, fresh mouthfeel typical of high-altitude Ribera del Duero.
Tasting Notes
Bright, full-depth, intense garnet-red with a dark-cherry red rim. The nose stands out for its underbrush and dark fruit — red currants, blackberries, blueberry jam, and dark plums — rounded by a pleasant background of mocha, pastry, spices, black pepper, liquorice, and cloves. Well-balanced, vibrant, and fresh on the palate, with refined and amiable tannins typical of Ribera del Duero wines. The finish is fresh, with nerve, yet pleasantly round.
