A Central Otago Pinot Noir from Selection Massale, Dan Gillett's winery founded in 2021 — 75% whole bunch, 4 weeks maceration, 12 months in aged French oak barriques, bottled unfiltered and unfined, with bright crimson colour and the classic black cherry and spice character of the region.
Tasting Notes
Bright crimson red. The nose is complex with sweet, juicy blackberry and Morello cherry, hints of cacao and spice, and the earthy, herbal depth that whole-bunch fermentation adds. Plush and supple on the palate with thyme, black cherry, and raspberry, balanced acidity, and a long, persistent finish. Central Otago Pinot done with genuine natural wine intention.
