About this wine
The flagship Pouilly-Fumé of Domaine des Berthiers, an old-vine Sauvignon Blanc grown on the rare Silex flint terroir at the foot of the hill of Saint-Andelain, and named after Evelyne Dagueneau.
Best enjoyed within 3 to 10 years.
Tasting notes
Exuberant ripe fruit leads, with pineapple, grapefruit and orange, framed by ten months of ageing on fine lees and partial new oak (around 30% of the blend). Concentrated candied-fruit flavours, real complexity and an elegant, mineral expression of the Silex terroir.
Goes with
Grilled or roasted sea fish, Thai cuisine, or dessert delights like a mango and raspberry vacherin.

The producer
Domaine des Berthiers sits in the hamlet of Les Berthiers in Saint-Andelain, at the heart of the Pouilly-Fumé appellation. Founded by Jean-Claude Dagueneau, a leading figure who helped make the appellation world famous, the estate is still home to his wife Evelyne, who continues his legacy. The Cuvée d'Eve is named in her honour.
