About this wine
A pure Barbera from Valli Unite's Tortona Hills cooperative in Piedmont, made from organically farmed old vines with spontaneous fermentation and extended maceration, producing a wine of intense ruby colour, bright acidity, and a dry, pleasantly bitter finish.
How it tastes
Open 10 minutes before serving.
Tasting notes
Intense ruby red in the glass. Vinous and expressive on the nose with red and dark fruit, earthy mineral depth, and a characteristic herbal note. The palate is dry with Barbera's signature bright acidity, a medium body, and a pleasantly bitter finish that makes it the ideal table wine. Named Bardigà after the Piedmontese word for bramble.
Goes with
Pasta al ragu, grilled meats, pizza, aged cheeses, and hearty Piedmontese cuisine. One of the great everyday Italian table wines.

The producer
Valli Unite is a cooperative of 35 producers founded in 1981 in the Tortona Hills of Piedmont, farming 100 hectares across 35 members with a shared commitment to organic viticulture and natural winemaking. Since converting to organic methods in 2006 and adopting spontaneous fermentation in 2013, they have become one of northern Italy's most respected natural wine estates. The cooperative model means the wines reflect a genuine community effort rather than a single winemaker's vision.
