Alter Ego is not a second wine in the usual sense. Palmer describe it as a different interpretation of the same estate rather than a lesser one, made from the same vineyards with a different approach in the cellar.
Tasting Notes
A harmonious blend of red berries, floral notes and a hint of spice, leading to a refined palate that mirrors the terroir of Margaux. The perfume and silk that define the commune are all here, in a wine built to be drunk younger than the Grand Vin. Palmer is unusual among the Médoc classed growths for the high proportion of Merlot in its vineyards, which is part of why its wines are so seductive early.

About the Producer
Château Palmer is a third growth of Margaux that has long performed at first growth level, named after Charles Palmer, a British general who bought the estate after Waterloo. It is farmed biodynamically and is unusual in the Médoc for the high proportion of Merlot planted alongside its Cabernet Sauvignon.
