Fleur de Pédesclaux is the second wine of Château Pédesclaux, a fifth growth in Pauillac that was a quiet underperformer for decades until Jacky Lorenzetti bought it in 2009 and rebuilt the estate from the ground up.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby with purple highlights. Blackcurrant and dark cherry on the nose with cedar, graphite and a touch of sweet spice from the oak. Medium to full bodied on the palate with fine-grained tannins, the cassis and pencil-lead signature that marks Pauillac, and a long, savoury finish. Approachable earlier than the Grand Vin, and considerably more affordable, but grown on the same gravel between Lafite and Mouton.

About the Producer
Château Pédesclaux sits in Pauillac, on gravel between Lafite Rothschild and Mouton Rothschild, and was classified a fifth growth in 1855. It spent much of the 20th century well below its potential until the property was bought in 2009 by Jacky Lorenzetti, who invested heavily in the vineyard, doubled its size and built a new gravity-fed cellar. It is now regarded as one of the most improved classed growths in the Médoc.
