About this wine
Named for the year 1130, when the Cité de Carcassonne was already a working medieval city and its slopes were already under vine. Pale yellow with silver reflections, citrus and pear over white flowers and a touch of vanilla.
Not straight from the fridge.
Tasting notes
Pale yellow with silver reflections. Citrus, pear, white flowers and gentle vanilla on the nose. Smooth and refreshing on the palate with lemon, peach and soft minerality, closing clean and well rounded. Carcassonne sits inland and higher than the coastal Languedoc, which gives its whites a touch more acidity and definition than the appellations nearer the sea.
Goes with
Seafood, salads, chicken dishes, creamy pastas, and soft cheeses.

His Château l'Hospitalet was named best wine estate in the world in 2019. The Héritage range takes its names from dates in the region's history, each bottle tied to the moment its appellation or grape enters the record.
