Description

Cabernet Sauvignon from the Rutherford bench, the stretch of Napa Valley floor that has produced the region's most celebrated reds for over a century, from an estate that has been making wine there since 1879.

Tasting Notes
A bouquet of blackberry, cassis and dark chocolate. Full bodied and well structured on the palate, with black cherry, espresso and a touch of vanilla, finishing with firm tannins and great length. Rutherford Cabernet is known for a distinctive dusty, earthy quality alongside the ripe fruit, and it is what separates wines from this part of the valley from the rest of Napa.

About the Producer
Inglenook was founded in Rutherford in 1879 by the Finnish sea captain Gustave Niebaum and was one of the great names of Californian wine before Prohibition. The estate was broken up and the name sold off in the 20th century. Francis Ford Coppola bought the first portion in 1975, spent decades buying back the rest of the land, and finally reacquired the Inglenook name itself in 2011.
