Les Baudes sits directly beneath Bonnes Mares on the northern edge of Chambolle-Musigny, and it shows it. A premier cru with more grip and depth than the village's lighter climats, without losing the perfume the commune is famous for.
Tasting Notes
A captivating bouquet of red cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry, layered with delicate floral aromas of violet and rose petal. Subtle sweet spice, cinnamon and clove, mingles with hints of forest floor, truffle and a touch of smoke. Silky and refined on the palate with velvety tannins and a vibrant acidity that lifts the fruit. Red berries, pomegranate and a whisper of cranberry are complemented by minerality and fine-grained oak. The finish is long and graceful. The limestone-rich soils and southeast-facing slope are what give the wine its combination of lift and substance.

Serve at 16°C. Decant thirty minutes before pouring. Will keep and improve for ten to fifteen years.
About the Producer
Maison Joseph Drouhin was founded in Beaune in 1880 by Joseph Drouhin, who had arrived from Chablis at the age of 22. His son Maurice bought the Clos des Mouches in 1921 and began building the family's own vineyard holdings, and Robert Drouhin, who took over in 1957, added parcels in many of Burgundy's greatest grand crus. The house is run today by the fourth generation, Frédéric, Véronique, Philippe and Laurent, from cellars beneath the old town of Beaune dug between the 13th and 18th centuries. Every estate vineyard has been farmed organically and biodynamically since 1993, making Drouhin the largest biodynamic producer in Burgundy.
