Les Fiefs de Lagrange is the second wine of Château Lagrange, a third growth in Saint-Julien and one of the great recovery stories of the Médoc, transformed after Suntory bought the run-down estate in 1983.
Tasting Notes
Deep garnet red. An expressive nose of blackcurrant, plum and violet, layered with hints of spice and cedar. Balanced and elegant on the palate with ripe tannins, showing dark berries, chocolate and a touch of tobacco, and a refined finish with good persistence. Saint-Julien is the most consistently balanced of the Médoc communes, sitting between the power of Pauillac to the north and the perfume of Margaux to the south.

About the Producer
Château Lagrange is one of the largest estates in Saint-Julien and was classified a third growth in 1855. By the early 1980s it had fallen into serious decline, and the Japanese group Suntory bought it in 1983 and invested heavily in the vineyard and cellar. It is now regarded as one of the most reliable classed growths in the Médoc.
