Mersel Elevate Pinot Noir, grown at 1,800 metres in Ainata on twenty year old vines at yields of around five hectolitres per hectare, bright ruby with red cherry, wild strawberry, rose petal and white pepper, silky and mineral driven.
Tasting Notes
Bright ruby-red with a hint of transparency. Fresh red cherry, wild strawberry, soft rose petals and a touch of white pepper on the nose. Light to medium bodied with juicy red fruit, fine minerality, gentle tannins and a balanced savoury finish. The texture is silky and the profile elegant. Half whole berry and half crushed, fermented naturally, then aged a year in Lebanese amphora and a further year in bottle. The yields here are extraordinarily low, around five hectolitres per hectare.
