Redbreast | 15 Years Old

Three more years in cask than the 12, and the difference is depth rather than a change of character. Crafted from a mash of malted and unmalted barley and triple distilled in copper pot stills at Midleton, then matured for fifteen years in a combination of bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks. Long treated as the connoisseur's Redbreast, and it was named Irish Whiskey of the Year in 2007.

Tasting Notes

Full and rich on the nose, with a complex, balanced mix of berry fruits and aromatic oils. Well balanced and mellow on the palate, combining the succulence of fleshy fruit with warming spice and toasted wood, and carrying the extra weight of dried fruit that the additional years bring. The finish is long and sophisticated.
