Bera Vittorio e Figli | Bianchduset Moscato - Wine - Buy online with Fyxx for delivery.
Description

One of the most unusual wines in the entire Fyxx range: a Moscato Bianco from Bera Vittorio in Piedmont that began life destined for Moscato d'Asti but instead underwent spontaneous fermentation lasting over two years in cement vats, then aged a decade under flor — a golden, oxidative, utterly singular wine.

Tasting Notes
Golden yellow with orange hints. The nose is oxidative in the Jura style rather than the floral Moscato style you might expect — dried fruits, citrus, mineral depth, and the signature autolytic character of ten years under a veil of yeast. Rich texture on the palate with dried fruit, mineral persistence, and a long, complex finish. Bottled unfiltered with no added sulphur. There is nothing else like this.

Quick Facts

  • Grape: 100% Moscato Bianco
  • Origin: Italy, Piedmont, Langhe (Canelli, clay-calcareous soils, 30-year-old vines, organically farmed since 1964)
  • Style: Oxidative dry white, spontaneous fermentation 2 years in cement, 10 years ageing under flor, zero added sulphur, unfiltered
  • Winemaking: Hand harvested, spontaneous fermentation 2+ years in cement, aged 10 years under flor (veil of yeast), bottled unfiltered with no added sulphur
  • Suitable for vegetarians and vegans

Food Pairing
Aged cheeses such as Cheddar or Gruyere, seafood, citrus-based sauces, and fruit tarts or panna cotta. Also extraordinary as a contemplative sipping wine.

Serving
Serve at 10-12°C. Open 20 minutes before serving. A small pour rewards patience.

About the Producer
Bera Vittorio e Figli is a small family estate in Neviglie in the Langhe hills of Piedmont, farming organically and producing wines across the Asti, Barbera, Dolcetto, and Moscato appellations. Their Moscato d'Asti is consistently regarded as one of the finest expressions of the Canelli denomination.
