The flagship red of one of southern France's most legendary estates, nicknamed "the Lafite of the Languedoc," a Cabernet-dominant blend of up to 21 grape varieties from organic limestone soils in the hills of Aniane.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in the glass. The nose is complex and restrained, with aromas of dark plum, blackcurrant, leather, tobacco, and a subtle garrigue earthiness that sets it apart from Bordeaux. On the palate it is medium-to-full bodied with fine, well-integrated tannins, a lively fresh acidity that belies the southern latitude, and a long, mineral, spice-tinged finish. A wine built for the cellar but rewarding from the moment it is opened.

About the Producer
Mas de Daumas Gassac was established by Aimé and Véronique Guibert in Aniane, Languedoc, after a Bordeaux soil scientist identified their limestone-rich land as having exceptional grape-growing potential akin to Burgundy's Côte d'Or. Farming organically since 1974, the estate has become one of southern France's most celebrated and unconventional producers, earning the nickname "the Lafite of the Languedoc." Their second label, Moulin de Gassac, was created in the 1990s to produce fun, accessible wines from the surrounding countryside in partnership with local growers, with vinification closely overseen by the Guibert family.
