An award-winning barrel-aged Chardonnay from 800 metres altitude in the Middle Atlas foothills of Morocco, crafted by French vignerons who fell in love with a terroir that produces wines of surprising freshness and European-calibre poise.
Tasting Notes
Pale gold with green highlights. The nose is expressive and citrus-forward with aromas of lemon, orchard fruit, white peach, and a subtle toasty note from 6 months in barrel. On the palate it is medium to full bodied with a good weight and a clean, refreshing acidity that is remarkable for the latitude. The finish is long and mineral. A genuinely impressive white from an unexpected corner of the wine world.

About the Producer
Domaine de la Zouina was established in the early 2000s near Meknes when French vignerons Gerard Gribelin and Philippe Gervoson discovered the exceptional potential of the region's limestone and clay soils on a golf trip. At 800 metres above sea level in the Middle Atlas foothills, the vineyards benefit from cool nights and mountain winds that balance the Moroccan heat. The estate now produces wines under the Volubilia and Epicuria labels and is managed by Christophe Gribelin, with winemaking overseen by Philippe Lespy, formerly of Domaines Barons de Rothschild. It is widely regarded as producing the most refined wines in Morocco.
