Description

A playful, zero-sulphur Petillant Naturel from Bergerac, blending Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc into a fresh, lightly sparkling wine with low alcohol and irresistible everyday charm.

Tasting Notes

Light and hazy in the glass with a fine natural fizz from bottle refermentation. Fresh and fruity on the nose, with aromas of citrus, white blossom, and green apple. On the palate it is light, gently sweet, and wonderfully refreshing, with a clean, lively finish. Low alcohol makes this dangerously easy to drink.

Quick Facts

  • Grapes: Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc
  • Origin: France, South West France, Bergerac AOC
  • Style: Lightly sparkling natural white (Pet Nat), zero added sulphur, off-dry
  • Winemaking: Manual harvest, gently crushed, fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeast, second fermentation in bottle (upright), minimal filtration, no fining, no sulphur
  • Suitable for vegetarians and vegans

Food Pairing

Perfect as an aperitif, with light salads, charcuterie, soft cheeses, or simply on its own. A crowd-pleasing opener for any occasion.

Serving

Serve well chilled at 6-8°C. Some natural cloudiness or sediment is normal for a Pet Nat. Open carefully.

About the Producer

Chateau Tour des Gendres was created by Luc de Conti, third generation of an Italian family that settled south of Bergerac in 1925. Luc pioneered organic farming in the region from 1996 and was certified in 2009, becoming one of the first in the Bergerac appellation to convert entirely. The 50-hectare estate in Ribagnac sits on clay-limestone soils and produces wines of remarkable purity and character. Today the estate is run by Gilles and Margaux de Conti, continuing Luc's legacy with the same passion and commitment to the land.
