A Muscat de Rivesaltes from Chateau de Jau, a large and well-regarded estate in Roussillon, made from late-harvested Muscat a Petits Grains with the sea winds of the Mediterranean coast giving the wine its distinctive aromatic freshness.
Tasting Notes
Pale gold. An elegant bouquet with lychee, ripe yellow pears, and a gentle exoticism. Juicy and sweet on the palate with honeydew melon, grapefruit, candied citrus, and a touch of mint. Fresh acid perfectly integrated into the residual sugar. Long aromatic finish. Not heavy, not cloying — one of the more refreshing fortified wines you will find.
